Dubai’s New Heart Sculpture – All You Needed to Know

A beautiful new sculpture has found its place within the spaces of Downtown Dubai. It will be yet another work of art for locals to treasure and visitors to marvel at and take pictures with. Here is all that you wanted to know about the Dubai heart sculpture; yet another Emaar's community art portfolio:

Heart shaped sculpture

This is the creation of the famous sculptor Richard Hudson. The artwork is made from mirrored steel and has a height and width of about five metres and is about 3.8 mts in thickness. The whole thing weighs 7,000 kg. Because of its large size, it had to be transported in pieces before being assembled on site.

'Love me' heart

According to the sculptor, this art work is “all-encompassing in its symbolism of love and peace - and an icon image that crosses all boundaries” and is meant to appeal to people from all walks of life.

Richard Hudson

He is a world-renowned British sculptor whose organic sculptures are displayed all over the world. The artworks of the 65-year-old are widely collected and highly prized.

A bigger version

The 'Love me' heart was earlier positioned at the Dubai Mall last year around the time of Valentine’s Day. This is a much bigger and more impressive version of the sculpture.

Positioned to reflect the Burj Khalifa

The beautiful reflective surface of the sculpture is positioned in a way that would everything around it. The 'Love me' heart at Downtown Dubai will reflect the Burj Khalifa as it towers up into the Dubai skyline behind it.

Great place to view the LED shows

The Burj Khalifa's official twitter handle has announced that special LED shows will be held every day during Ramadan: 7:45 & 9:45 from Sunday to Wednesday and with two additional shows at  8:45 and 10:45 Thursday through Saturday. The 'Love me' heart may be a great location to view the LED show from.
