Twitter never ceases to amaze me – sometimes in a good way, but mostly it just amazes me. So some (thought) they heard someone fart on live TV and this exercised a bunch of people who started to talk about whether or not this was an actual fart. A discussion about #FartGate ensued and caused some of us to question human sanity as a whole.
This video has almost 4 lakh views. Another 5 second video of the same ‘event’ has 4.7 million views, thousands of retweets and many times as many likes. That’s just two videos of the fart heard around the world; there are many many more.
Was it? Wasn’t it? The words, the body languge, the pause – everything was dissected, analysed, discussed. How वेल्ला (unemployed, idle) are people!
This is far from the only time there have been allegedly live farts on TV. The tweeple listed numerous instances.
…That farts are funny; always have been.
What are those? #FartGate is what should concern all of us.
The farter in question is Eric Swalwell, one of the people currently engaged in the Presidential impeachment proceedings. People don’t want to ‘stand behind him’ either for practical or political purposes.
Quite unsurprisingly, the reactions of the tweeple were coloured by their political and ideological affiliations.
Rudy Giuliani – who is currently under the scanner in the US presidential impeachment inquiry – is seen here as being a possible culprit.
In reply, another Twitter user said ‘thanks’ for getting to the ‘bottom’ of the issue.
...and furious
#FartGate became such a big deal that the TV channel had to issue a statement clarifying that this was not the sound of a fart, but the sound of a mug being dragged across a table. Many of the tweeple tried it out. They were clearly not convinced.
I have no idea what this has to do with #FartGate, but that is an amazingly cute kid and that video restored some of my lost faith in humanity.
There was admiration expressed for the timing, the lack of a reaction, fart quality and other aspects relating to #FartGate.
Piers Morgan, known to be a Trump supporter ‘recreates’ the event for the TV viewing public. As for me, I join in the appeal expressed via this tweet to for ‘Scientifically Advanced Extra-Terrestrials, please save Humanity.’ Amen to that.
