The Air Force is not all screaming fighter jets, nippy choppers and mighty transport aircraft. It is also the brilliant and hardworking men and women of the medical branch: doctors, specialists and super specialists, medical nursing staff, technicians, lab experts, radiologists, counsellors and more. They work hard but also take some time off to be ‘happy’ as this viral video of IAF medical professionals dancing to Happy by Pharrel Williams proves.
Every large Air Force station would have a fully equipped hospital, with several departments, specialists as well as a dental centre. This is 12 AHF of Gorakhpur Air Force Hospital.
While the Indian military is a tremendously disciplined and potent professional force, the military has a strong tradition of partying. Celebration of festivals, unit raising days and anniversaries, welcoming new officers and bidding farewell to those posted out – all these mean partying with great gusto.
Personnel are often called upon to serve in hardship postings and spend long periods without family. In the event, the people they work with become their extended family.
A fauji will almost always have some hidden talent other than the military trade they practice. He or she may be a great singer, dancer, musician, actor or event manager. All those talents come in handy.
