As soon as her shampoo and towel are placed in the bathroom, my dog senses that a bath is in the offing and futilely tries to hide under furniture, her tail firmly stuck between her legs. However show her muddy puddles and she prances right in, a picture of excited happiness. The fact that the resultant disgustingly dirty creature has to go straight for a bath escapes her. So clearly dogs love water (if not baths) as this video and its replies demonstrate:
Sitting on a hot summer day in what appears to be a bubbling mountain brook? That would work for me.
If that is a dog’s life, I want it!
Puddles? Yes please! Bath? Get me out of here!
Clearly, it depends upon what type of water we’re talking about.
You know the idiom about taking ‘like a duck to water’?
It should be ‘like a dog to water’ instead because dogs are natural swimmers. And all dogs should be as lucky – because they deserve it!
Who can resist the sight of that happy face – that wide smile of contentment?
Feeling hot? The water will take care of the panting.
Dogs know what is important in life: food, loved ones, play, rest… all else is secondary. Great life lesson!
Dogs can be kind too – the instinct of that dog would be to eat that fish up, but somehow it doesn’t do it – simply because it wants to make their hooman happy. Also they know they're going to be fed later…
Also great life lessons – we should learn from the doggies.
If there is water, that doggie is naturally going to gravitate towards it. The resultant wet dog smell may overwhelm their hooman, but it never seems to bother the dog the smell emanates from.
