Needless to say, the heat of the month of May has been pretty brutal for Delhi people; particularly when Bangalore people were flaunting their pleasant weather in our faces. Now since the early hours of Monday morning, we have had some gale force winds that cleared out the stale hot air and driving rain that caused temperatures to plummet. We couldn’t be happier! Of course #DelhiRains was trending.
We woke up to the sound of rain and thunder. The break in the heat simply felt marvellous.
It was cooler by about 20 degrees! Take that Bangalore!
Suddenly the AC was off, even the fan speed had to be lowered.
The cool winds blowing early morning had us shivering a little bit.
Electricity outages were much less of a problem.
Everything seems washed clean of the dust, grime and pollution of city life.
The dead leaves are gone and everything is dust-free and bright.
Like flooding inside the house and outside it – but we were not complaining.
Rains can play spoilsport
With the weather turning hospitable, people may be more willing to return to Delhi.
They wanted to experience the wonderful weather.
Sleeping with the cool wind wafting feels wonderful.
Including the water in the shower
Now coolest May – whoever thought we would have temperatures as low as 22 in May – in Delhi?
The sweet cooing of the koel is the most delightful of sounds.
It’s now our turn.
People posted pictures of dark skies, thunder and lightning, and pouring rain in Delhi – it was enough to gladden even the most hardhearted.
