If you're a dog lover you will be delighted but not too surprised by the story of a dog who faked a limp in sympathy for his injured owner. And this is far from the only amazing dog story around. Dogs are wonderful creatures and they demonstrate this fact in various different ways.
There is a man on crutches with his leg in plaster. Alongside is a dog that appears to be lame. Turns out there was no physical reason for the dog’s limp. After spending 300 pounds in vet fees and x-rays, it turned out that this was just a case of canine sympathy.
She was in a bad way – undernourished and clearly abused when she was found and taken to a shelter. Then at the Nuneaton and Warwickshire Wildlife Sanctuary Jasmine became a mother figure to all the other rescued animals. She nurtured and looked after all the other creatures – hares, owls, hamsters, badgers, foxes and nursed them to good health.
Iyal was adopted by the Winokur family who were experiencing the difficulties of living with a child with Fetal Alcohol Syndrome. The one thing that transformed a very difficult situation was the service dog called Chancer. The rages were much less frequent, nights were much more peaceful and the family was finally able to sleep through the night. The 90-pound golden retriever was trained for the job and seemed to know instinctively when Iyal needed him; calming him down, rescuing him and giving the whole family succor.
This doggie got out of the Franck family home and walked 20 blocks to the hospital to find its owner Nancy. Nancy was being treated for cancer at the hospital and the family was amazed to see their pet turning up at the hospital it had never been to before. The human was ailing so the furry friend had to visit.
Victoria the one eyed dog seemed to have made up for her limited vision with an extra sensory perception of some sort. Lauren Gauthier had rescued Victoria who kept sniffing Lauren’s nose quite insistently. Lauren wondered why the dog seemed to be paying so much attention to that specific area. Turns out the dog was literally ‘sniffing’ out and detecting cancer in that area. The doctor was able to excise Lauren’s cancer in a timely manner, all thanks to Victoria.
The Siddhivinayak Temple in Ahmednagar district’s Siddhatek has a unique temple resident. He sits outside the temple and shakes the hands of devotees and blesses them. The amazing thing is that this is a stray dog – something of a local attraction and now viral on social media as well. This is just one more of the many, many amazing stories about dogs – because they just are wonderful creatures.
