It is a great story – this Canadian couple wanted to evade curfew rules and decided to do this: she put him on a leash, because walking the dog is exempt from the curfew. So sometimes people treat other people like animals. However, it is also true that some people treat animals like humans.
There is a COVID curfew in parts of Canada, which is implemented after 8 PM. Only some are allowed out between 8 PM and 5 AM. Walking a dog within one km of one's home is one exception. However, one couple from the Sherbrook locality decided to take a walk anyway. The wife put the husband on a leash but the authorities were having none of it. They fined both; $1,500 each!
There are many pet owners, sorry pet parents who decide that their pets are their babies. As such, they anthropomorphise the poor creatures to the extent of talking to them, swaddling them, dressing them and perhaps singing them lullabies.
If one wants to have a kid, one may as well opt for one who offers unconditional love, doesn’t grow into a surly teen, doesn’t add to the laundry burden, right? Oh wait!
There are pet owners who will let it be known that people who hate pets are not welcome in their home. They let such visitors know that the pet will not be restrained or isolated just because the visitor is uncomfortable with the pet. After all, it is that pet’s home.
Some people just prefer animals to humans – they find them more trustworthy, genuine, honest, loving and loyal. And here I must admit that I also share that view; I have a sweatshirt that says dogs welcome, humans tolerated.
They are sorry for their mistakes and they will beg your forgiveness. They just want their hooman to be happy. Also, who can resist that face!
So when mom asks about grandkids, this is the answer given.
Some parents get their kid a pet; others get their pet a kid.
Yes, baby leashes are a thing. Apparently, kangaroo packs for large pets are also a thing. And clearly, this human doesn’t differentiate between babies --- a baby is a baby --- furry or otherwise.
