UAE Is Ranked Second Safest Country in the World, Here’s Why

The UAE is a magnet for foreign nationals from all over the world. Providing great career and earning opportunities for professionals from every sector, there is good reason why about 80% of UAE’s population consists of expatriates. It is also a highly popular travel and tourism destination. For all these reasons, the country's safety and security and crime rate are matters of concern. However, a recent reports shows that citizens, visitors as well as residents can rest assured about the safety and security in the country.

UK based consumer association and registered charity Which? advises and protects consumer interests. The organisation also reports on research and various studies into customer issues. The organisation conducts research into travel related issues as well.

Iceland is the safest for travellers

The stunning, sparsely populated northern country was found to be the safest in the world. Since 2000, the country has had only 36 murders recorded! Data from World Economic Fund, the World Risk Report, NHS Fit for Travel website and other soruces was collated to arrive at this conclusion.

UAE is the second safest

UAE was found to be the second safest country to visit in terms of crime rate, dangers such as natural calamities, terror strikes etc. UAE is followed by Singapore, Spain and Australia.

Safe for natural disasters

One of the things that visitors fear about visiting another country is the expectance of a natural disaster striking. Here as well UAE fared very well, just after Barbados and Iceland, while Japan was rated worst on this consideration.

Low risk for health concerns, terror

The UAE is also perceived as being at low risk for health concerns. In other words people are much less likely to need vaccinations or contract diseases such as malaria, diphtheria, hepatitis, typhoid etc. The report also found that there was low risk of terror attacks in the UAE.

Abu Dhabi is safest city

Earlier this year, another report, by the crowd sourced global data organisation Numbeo found Abu Dhabi to be the safest city in the world. 338 cities were examined and overall Abu Dhabi was the safest, with Dubai at number 11. Aspects such as quality of life, cost of travel, pollution levels and affordability were also looked at to arrive at this conclusion.
