The Emirates Airline official handle tweeted the image of an aircraft that appeared to be entirely diamond encrusted. This of course got everyone talking. This beautiful, glittering image of a Boeing 777, the world’s largest twin engine air craft was tweeted by Emirates Airline. “Image created by Sara Shakeel” said the tweet.
Many such as this official Dulles Airport handle expressed their enchantment with the diamond encrusted plane.
Twitter loved the diamond plane; which some thought is perfectly representative of Dubai because of how blingy it is.
Something that bright would be seen from space, thought one Twitter commentator.
This twitter user was clearly not impressed with diamonds on a plane; expressing the view that the announcement of nonpolluting fuel source would have been more welcome.
This tweet shared one possible explanation for an aircraft covered in diamonds; one of the most expensive materials in the world.
One response to the Emirates tweet was by a Twitter user who cautioned against showing the plane to Donald Trump; someone who is well known for his love of bling and opulence.
As one twitter handle pointed out, a plane would find it difficult to take off with the additional weight of so many diamonds!
Some were worried about FOD or foreign object damage in a plane such as this.
While it was unlikely that anyone really believed that such a plane covered with diamonds could actually be created, a few Twitter comments pointed out the obvious....that it is fake!

She appears to have something of a penchant for all things blingy. She creates images featuring ordinary objects encrusted with diamonds: burgers, chips, leaves, places of worship, steam, coffee, a catspaw…. The list goes on.
