It was an astrophysical event that happens once in 400 years; the planetary alignment of two of our solar system’s most spectacular planets. The alignment of Saturn and Jupiter was such that the two planets appear close to each other; making for great enthusiasm among astronomers and enthusiasts. The great Jupiter Saturn conjunction resulted in some amazing photos from all over the world:
The rare planetary event created a lot of excitement among scientists as well as space enthusiasts and amateur photographers.
The conjunction of these two giants of our solar system meant that people were able to photograph both simultaneously
The photographs captured several of Jupiter’s moons and Saturn’s rings as well.
The reason that so many amateurs have been able to capture these images is because Jupiter and Saturn are large enough to be visible to the naked eye.
From Egypt.
This is a time-lapse image that shows the path that the planet moved along.
The two planets don’t get to ‘see’ each other too often, pointed out the tweeple.
Seen quite bright in the night sky, Jupiter is also known as the Christmas star.
This is such a rare astral event that the last time it happened, Galileo was still alive!
Shot by an Australian Amateur Astrophotographer from India, this image received a lot of praise and attention on social media.
Many people were reminded about how very inconsequential each one of us really is in the cosmic scheme of things.
Is it any wonder that so many were so utterly fascinated by the planetary alignment? Jupiter and Saturn are supposed to have a bearing on the personality of people and the course of their lives after all.
