The Subroto cup is an All India Inter School football tournament, organised by the Subroto Mukerjee Sports Education Society. It is an event celebrating team spirit, sportsman ship and the unadulterated enthusiasm of young adults. But how much do you know about football and especially subroto cup? 1. The Subroto Cup was started in 1958

It was conceived by Late Air Marshal Subroto Mukerjee because he wanted football to be initiated as an intense sport amongst children, so that it could be perpetuated further in the Nation.
2. Brazilian footballer Pele came to the Ambedkar studio in 2015
The great Brazilian Star!
He wanted to cheer for the young teams and boost their enthusiasm.
3. The event is organised by the Indian Air Force

And they have immense support from the Ministry of Youth and Affairs!
4. Pre-lims are held in every state of India, Annually
Fair play
It is made sure that the event is fair, and that every single eligible team gets a chance to play. Selected teams then head for a knock out match, which ultimately decides the fate of semi-finalists and finalists.
