IPL 2019 So Far – In Memes

If you're a cricket lover and watch IPL assiduously, you already know everything that’s going on. If you aren’t too clued into the IPL 2019 matches, but are a cricket lover nevertheless, you'll want to know what’s been going on. Either way, these memes will bring you up to date.

Match no 20 RCB v DC

The humiliation of RCB at the hands of each of the teams they have played is well known. They have lost to every team.

A comfortable win

RCB made 149/8 which DC overhauled in the 19th over.

KKR gave a drubbing to RR in match 21

Rajasthan Royals set the Kolkata Knight Riders a target of 139 losing three wickets. KKR got to 140 in just the 14th over, losing only two wickets.

Was there a plan?

Some people think there was one – to avoid Andre Russell.

KXIP v SRH Match 22

It was a closely fought match with the Surisers setting the Kings XI a 150 run target. KXIP prevailed however, getting the 11 runs needed in the last over; with one ball to spare.

Respect?

Obviously Twitterati made several references to the Ashwin and the Mankad.

Match 23 was CSK v KKR

KKR may have aimed high, but they struck low; managing only 108 losing a flood of wickets (9) in their 20 overs. Chennai Super Kings managed to win comfortably by 7 with 18 balls to spare.

Because aukat!

Dhoni fans continue to deify their idol and his team above all else. They also feel that Andre Russell against other teams is very different from the way he plays against CSK.

It was MI v KXIP in match 24

It was another nail-biter that went down to the wire. KXIP set a formidable total of 197/4 for the Mumbai Indians. MI lost more wickets (7) but edged past the KXIP total on the very last ball.

Hardik Pandya and Kieron Pollard

MI needed 104 in the last eight overs, but these two managed to save the day for their team. Pollard scored a powerful 83 from 31 balls.

Match 25 was RR v CSK

Rajasthan Royals set CSK a target of 151 losing seven wickets, but SCK edged past on the final ball with 4 wickets to spare.

A highlight

Ravindra Jadeja played a brand new stroke, one that laid him low and also laid the bowler low. It still went for a six, however.

Captain not-so-cool?

Another highlight of the match was the never before seen: M S Dhoni losing his cool over a last over no-ball ruling being overturned. He actually walked out on to the field from the dugout to register his protest; for which he was fined half his match fee.

KKR v DC was match 26

The Kolkata team made 178/7 but the Delhi team got past them with 7 wickets and 7 balls to spare. In match 27, MI take on RR and later KXIP take on RCB in match 28 today, which brings us up to about the halfway mark of IPL 2019.
