YouTube Was Down – If That Wasn’t Enough Google Was Down Too

Remember who YouTube was down last month? Well it happened again. That annoying purple monkey with a red hat and hammer in its hand would come up instead of the YouTube home page each time one tried to reload. This would be accompanied by the words Something went wrong… well duh! Turns out Google other services of Google were also temporarily down.

Widespread outage

Many of Google’s services were impacted by the outage experienced all over.

#YouTubeDOWN

What? Again?

What??

Much to the annoyance of the netizens, everything seemed to be down simultaneously.

The reason?

The 45 minute long system outage was due to an ‘internal storage quota issue’ according to reports. Services were restored thereafter.

Digital art

Some of the tweeple were sharing some rather clever digital art: the pun on the word ‘down’, highlighting ‘out’ in YouTube etc.

More

Clever digital art following Google and YouTube outages.

It was a big problem for many

Outages such as these can interrupt work.

The usual suspects:

Wi-Fi connection, broadband issue or problem with the device?

Very annoyed

Refreshing the page didn’t help, disconnecting and reconnecting Wi-Fi didn’t help and restarting the device made no difference.

Trending everywhere

Soon the outraged tweeple were trending #GoogleDown, #YouTubeDOWN all over.

People couldn’t even complain

Google was down --- so they couldn't Google how to complain

Some didn’t mind

Clearly some were craving down time… from work.

Its 2020 after all

What else should we expect from a year that has been so dreadful?

Don’t blame 2020…

…for everything said some of the tweeple.

Some benefitted…

…Like Yahoo perhaps. I mean, who ever uses Yahoo unless they have to?

Or Bing

I get really annoyed if some plugin /update changes my default search engine to Bing – don’t  you?

Or DuckDuckGo

Duck duck who, I hear you say?

Some turned to Hotmail

I was not so desperate. Gmail is so far superior that nothing would convince me to migrate to another email service.

This scenario

Doubtless the people at Google were trying their best to fix the outages.

“The end is near”

#GoogleDown, #YouTubeDOWN – can it get any worse said those who are rather prone to overreaction.
