The Door To Hell Is A Tourist Attraction

This is a natural gas field in Derweze, Turkmenistan, that collapsed into an underground cavern in 1971, becoming a natural gas crater.
Geologists set a fire here to prevent the spread of deadly methane gas, and it has been burning continuously since then.
The name "Door to Hell" was given by the locals, referring to the fire, and boiling mud.
The hot spot has a diameter of 70 meters and ranges over an area with a width of 60 meters and a depth of about 20 meters.
This crater has become a popular tourist attraction. Around 50,000 tourists have visited the site in the last 5 years.
