Ever Wonder Why Is Getting Out On Zero is Called Duck in Cricket

In cricket, when a player gets out on zero runs, then he is said be out on a duck. But have you ever thought why they call it a duck?
This name came out in 1860's and the name is believed to come from the shape of the number "0" as it looks similar to that of a duck's egg.
Later, some people shorten the name and started calling it as a duck.
Many of you don't know but there are several variations used to describe specific types of duck such as 'golden duck'. When a player is dismissed by the first ball he faces, it is said to be dismissed for a golden duck.
While silver duck and bronze duck is referred to being dismissed on the second ball and third ball respectively, without scoring any run.
While a batsman who is dismissed without facing any ball (case of run out), is said to be out for a diamond duck.
