Ever Wonder Why Some Road Have White And Some Have Yellow Lines?

Indian Road network is the second largest network in the world, which is spread over over 46 Lakh kilometers. But, have you ever wondered why some roads have white markings while others have yellow markings?
Usually, white lines are used on a one way road, where solid white lines mean you must not change lanes without indicating.
Whereas, broken white lines indicates that you can change the lane if it is safe.
And yellow lines are used for to signify two way traffic. Here solid yellow lines imply that you you are crossing over to oncoming traffic.
Broken yellow lines imply that you can change the lane if it is safe in changing the lane.
You may have also seen these road studs or radium lights. These are basically used to provide some lighting on the roads during the night. These lights reflects light back to the emitting source.
