Ever Wondered Why Cops Touch Your Car's Tail Light After Pulling You Over?

We all try to follow traffic rules (most of the times - lets say 99.9% of the times) and that one time when we don't, we end up getting pulled over by a cop.

And now that you know how it is to get pulled over by the cop, you would have also noticed that the first thing a cop does after you stop the car is touch the taillight on the driver side of your car. But, have you ever wondered or asked them why they do so?

Well, the reason they do that is to leave their fingerprints on the vehicle, which indicates that the officer came in contact with your car.

It is a safety procedure - in case the officer is being attacked or anything serious ever happens, his/her finger print on the culprit's car would serve as an evidence.

Although nowadays most of the police departments use cameras and hi-tech equipments, but there are still a lot of officers who practice this physical precautionary measure.

Brilliant - isn't it? It definitely helps them find the culprit faster. So next time be careful and don't try to mess with a cop.
