Recently, Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu Jayalalithaa passed away at the age of 68, due to a cardiac arrest. She was one of India's most influencial and popular politicians in India, who served as the Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu, for over fourteen years between 1991 and 2016.

She was born in 1948 in Mysore, and was a bright student in her childhood, but soon she shifted her focus towards films and became one of the most popular actresses of her time.
She was trained in Indian classical music and dance. Between the years 1965 and 1973, she starred in more than 28 hit films with M G Ramachandran.
She won several Filmfare and other awards during her long and successful film career and became popular with the name of Puratchi Thalaivi, which basically means "revolutionary leader" .
She was first elected as the Cheif Minister of Tamil Nadu in 1991 and she governed the state for over two decades. During this period, she won the hearts of millions and she will always be remembered as one of the most successful leaders in the country. R.I.P Amma.
