Are You a Beatles Fan? You Will Relate To These Memes

I am a dedicated Beatles fan and I believe that there is at least one Beatles song that will appeal to each individual on earth. Their music was melodious, varied, memorable and just very, very likeable. Beatle mania was real, and I kind of understand that as a phenomenon; as I understand these memes about the band:

They were the real deal

When kids these days try to compare John, Paul, George & Ringo with literally anyone else, the true blue Beatles fan is like, bitch please – exactly like that.

The music never stales

Those who love the Beatles love them forever – the Fab Four ‘4ever’ as that poster says.  Fans were heartbroken when they broke up in 1970 even though each of the Beatles went on to have solo music careers; successful to varying degrees.

The lyrics were occasionally strange

Those lines are from Come Together. They may sound exceedingly strange but this happens to be one of the most covered songs in the world. Fans always have hidden meanings to share; to explain their most bizarre and out-there lyrics.

Deeper meaning?

If there was a bizarre lyrics contest, Lucy in the Sky with Diamonds would be a strong contender. Maybe the song was about a child’s drawing maybe it was about the popular psychedelic drug of the time.

Love songs, ballads

There were the frothy love songs (I wanna hold your hand, love love me do), and soulful ballads (Something, Yesterday, Michelle) and just some marvellous melodies (Penny Lanes, Ob la di ob la da)

Songs of all sorts

Then there were philosophical songs, some that gave solace and seemed to offer wisdom as well; such as Let It Be, Long and Winding Road, Across the Universe, Eleanor Rigby. These were songs that listeners identified with.

The frankly crazy

So there was the song about a yellow submarine, about fixing a hole, the man on a random hill, about an octopus’s garden, about being a walrus – lots of really bat-s**t crazy stuff.

John Lennon

Everyone has a fave Beatle. Those who love John the most believe that the history of music would have been different if a crazed fan had not killed John that fateful day in 1980.

Paul McCartney

Then there are those who (like me) believe that for sheer longevity and for his consistent prodigious output, there is no one quite like Paul; one of only two surviving Beatles today.

The underrated Beatle

Ringo Starr was perhaps regarded as the most frivolous Beatle and George Harrison the most profound. Harrison, who died of cancer in 2001 was strongly influenced by Indian music and spirituality, was an activist and wrote some of the group's most complex songs.

Trendsetters

The Beatles were trendsetters of their time – people still imitate them – accidentally or on purpose.

Influential

Influential

The Beatles were one of the most influential bands ever. Not only were they hugely popular, but they spawned a bunch of imitators as well… however as any true Beatles fan will tell you, no one else came close.
