These are unusual times to say the least – unusual amounts of inactivity and more time than usual time to brood and contemplate life in general. With the novel coronavirus lockdown in place, some of us may contemplate unwise actions and decisions. Here are some things you should try and avoid now during the lockdown:
There is a reason why they are your ‘ex’. Don’t let loneliness, anxiety or boredom – common byproducts of a self-quarantine/lockdown – make you act unwisely.
One may have tried quite hard to get over their ex; the weaning away may have been difficult. Don’t get hooked again. Plus, the possible rejection may be seriously injurious for your ego.
Best not to day drink – lockdown or no lockdown. That is not the sort of alcohol that will help fight infection.
Even if it’s looking shaggy and unkempt right now, resist the urge to give yourself or someone at home a haircut. You will regret it (or be made to regret it).
Don’t shave your head, don’t colour your hair, resist the urge to do anything drastic. Remember hair takes a long time to grow – longer than most lockdowns (hopefully). Supply chains being interrupted right now, you never know when you're likely to get your hands on ‘corrective’ measures.
Sure the stupid ideas can come thick and fast at times like this. But in the interests of self-preservation, it may be best to avoid doing things like this.
Yes, it could be tempting to simply sleep away the days. Try to pick up a hobby instead. Clean the house. Cook something nice. Who knows you may discover a long-buried talent within?
There are a lot of challenges and pranks going around right now. Resist the urge to join the really stupid ones.
The Dalgona coffee challenge is apparently a thing right now. Don’t know why, but it is. Stirring coffee and sugar together seems fairly harmless --- so far.
We all need to take precautions. If not for ourselves, we need to do it for others.
I know one say seems much like another – Sunday seems to arrive unannounced and unacknowledged.
Though your usual busy, packed days seem to be a distant memory, it’s a good idea to try and keep to some semblance of a routine.
Remember, this too shall pass. Together we can and shall overcome COVID-19.
