The Hospitality Management Holding (HMH) signed an agreement on 3rd May to construWith the approaching of Expo 2020 in Dubai, the Hospitality Management Holding (HMH) has signed an agreement on the 3rd of May to construct the first ECOS’s brand hotel in a residential development Al Furjan in Dubai South, which will be the UAE’s first high-quality sustainable hotel with 320 keys to offer.
ECOS Hotels is an environmentally-responsible budget hotel brand. Efficiency, creativity and simplicity, combined with a unique design and technology, allows ECOS to offer a new perspective in the budget hotel sector. Brett Schafer, the CEO of Faisal Holding, which owns the HMH, have spoken to the media and said that the hotel “is very much along the lines of the future, where we [HMH] believe the hospitality industry is going”. He also said “it’s sustainable and eco-friendly, as well as experiential for a guest” and “it will incorporate all the latest in digital technology and of course sustainability as far as energy is concerned”.
Aboudi Asali, the CEO of HMH, says that the hotel will also try to target people who are looking for the mid-market accommodations while their stay in Dubai. He also hopes that this hotel will serve as a good example to expand the ECOS brand hotels across the region.

Hotels operated by HMH – Hospitality Management Holding in the UAE exceeded expectations with an outstanding year-to-date performance. While Bahi Ajman Palace Hotel recorded an impressive 23 per cent growth in revenue, Coral Beach Resort Sharjah and Coral Dubai Deira averaged between 5 to 10 per cent increase in revenue year on year.
Ferghal Purcell, COO of HMH, attributes this exceptional performance to a diversified and balanced business mix, as well as an increase in the wholesale business. Purcell said, "We have been witnessing extremely positive trends with certain markets performing better than expected. There has been a very strong return of the wholesale market from the CIS and Europe including the Nordic and Baltic States, which helped boost the numbers. In addition, the GCC market remains very strong with very successful school holiday periods".
